Report: European giants to offer West Ham 23-year-old winger plus £8.7 million for Said Benrahma

AC Milan are reportedly willing to offer winger Alexis Saelemaekers to West Ham United plus cash for Said Benrahma.

The 27-year-old West Ham winger is actually enjoying a fine season, with 13 goal involvements in 36 games so far (Transfermarkt).

Unfortunately for the Algeria International though, he has never been one of the favourites of Hammers manager David Moyes.

I really like Benrahma and hope that he remains at the London Stadium for many more years to come.

The ex-Brentford winger is already being linked with a move to AC Milan though, with West Ham allegedly demanding around £26 million for his signature.

However, it seems as though the Italian giants are eyeing up a different kind of deal…

According to a report from SerieBNews, Milan are prepared to offer nine-capped Belgium international Alexis Saelemaekers plus €10 million (£8.7 million) for the Algerian Hammers ace.

As good as the 23-year-old Milan star undoubtedly is, I still don’t think West Ham should even be entertaining this deal. If we have to sell him, let’s just get some decent money in and replace him properly.

The Belgian has only two goals and two assists to his names in 23 games for Milan so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Benrahma is streets ahead of Saelemaekers when it comes to skill, trickery and end product.

The Algeria international still has many levels to reach as well in my opinion.

If Said Benrahma was allowed off the leash, he could cause untold problems for West Ham. There is a feeling amongst the London Stadium faithful that Moyes fails to get there best out of the winger due to his rigid approach to tactics.

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that the Hammers don’t decide to sell the 27-year-old this summer.
