A reported Liverpool move to sign Josko Gvardiol could see Nat Phillips join West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from The Athletic, the 21-year-old RB Leipzig ace joining Liverpool will help West Ham get a deal for the 25-year-old Reds centre-back over the line in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Express have claimed that Liverpool are eyeing a £90 million deal to sign the supremely talented Croatia international in the summer.

Described as an ‘unreal’ player, Gvardiol has gone from strength to strength over the past year or so.
And with a Premier League move beckoning for the defender, West Ham fans will be keeping a keen eye on which club he joins in the summer transfer window…
Liverpool signing Josko Gvardiol could see Nat Phillips join West Ham
The Athletic reckon that the door could be open for the Hammers to sign the 25-year-old defender, if the Croatian ends up moving to Anfield.
Moyes is a big fan of Phillips, and has tried to sign him on a few occasions previously.
With Kurt Zouma continuing to struggle with injuries and Craig Dawson having left the club in January, Moyes will be keen to sign a top-class central defender before the start of next season.
And Phillips would be a very useful option for us in my opinion.
The 25-year-old is incredibly strong in the air – he proved that in the 2020/21 season during both games against us when he absolutely dominated Michael Antonio and Sebastien Haller. He’s tenacious in the tackle, a great reader of the game and plays with commitment, passion and desire.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp once described Phillips as ‘unbelievable’ (Liverpool Echo). Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand raved about his display for the Reds at the San Siro in December 2021, labelling Phillips as ‘beautiful’ and ‘Baresi like’ (Daily Mail).
The fact that Phillips has received that kind of praise proves just how much talent he has and how highly regarded he is in the game.
The Liverpool centre-back just needs to join a club where he will be playing regularly, and the Hammers could well be the perfect club for him to join, if we remain in the Premier League of course.
Should Liverpool sign Josko Gvardiol in the summer transfer window, West Ham’s task of bringing Phillips to East London will be made a whole lot easier.
