Newcastle United reportedly could pip West Ham United to the signing of Alex Scott in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs who claims that that Newcastle are ‘one to watch’ in the race to sign the supremely talented £25 million-rated 19-year-old.

West Ham fans will know all about Jacobs’ creditability. He was the first journalist to break the news of our interest in signing Lucas Paqueta in the summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his attacking midfield ranks at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, with Manuel Lanzini and Nikola Vlasic being heavily tipped with permanent exits at the end of the season.

Alex Scott would be a tremendous addition for West Ham but Newcastle’s interest in the Bristol City teenager will make our task of bringing him to East London a very hard one indeed…

Newcastle eyeing summer transfer window Alex Scott swoop

It seems as though the Hammers will really have our work cut-out if we are to sign the 19-year-old Bristol City ace in the summer.

Ben Jacobs suggested that the Toon are a club to keep an eye on:

Losing out on Alex Scott would be a disaster – he’s that good.

David Moyes allegedly wants to bring Scott to the London Stadium this summer (The Sun).

Total Football Analysis have labelled Scott as ‘incredible’.

Scott bagged four goals and two assists in 38 Championship games for Bristol City last season and this term he has one goal and five assists to his name in 41 games (Transfermarkt).

The youngster is an attacking midfielder and seems to glide along the turf with grace and panache.

Scott possesses exceptional technical ability and in spite of his tenders years, he already has impressive physical strength.

Newcastle beating us to the signing of Alex Scott in the summer transfer window will be very much their gain and our loss.
