The Hammers play host to Spurs at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon in what is a huge game for both sides.

West Ham won their Europa League game last night against Genk whilst Tottenham were humbled away in Vitesse.

David Moyes has worked miracles in charge of the Hammers whilst Nuno Espirito Santo is still in the very early days of his tenure at Spurs.

It should be an absolutely cracking game on Sunday and both sides will undoubtedly go all out for the win.

Paul Merson makes three-goal West Ham vs Tottenham prediction

Merse has been making regular predictions for Sportskeeda this season.

And the former Arsenal man has backed a three-goal thriller between West Ham and Tottenham on Sunday:

“This is a big game and I’m predicting West Ham to win at home. In my opinion, they are a better team than Tottenham Hotspur because they are more consistent and dig in more in the bigger games. If David Moyes manages to keep everyone fit over the course of the season, West Ham will finish above Spurs. Spurs got a good result against Newcastle United in their previous Premier League encounter, but I still feel like West Ham can grind this one out, while on the other hand, I can’t see Spurs doing that consistently throughout the season.”

Prediction: West Ham United 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

We would take that all day long.

Tottenham will pose a real threat, of course they will. And with Nuno having rested their entire starting XI last night, many are suggesting that Spurs may well hold the advantage.

There is a lot to be said for positive momentum, however.

West Ham head into Sunday’s clash flying high after another European win whilst Tottenham’s morale may be low following their shocker against Vitesse.

This is a big one. Win and we could be inside the top four. Lose, and we have to put up with stick from Tottenham fans until we play them again.

It should be a great game whatever happens and I cannot wait. COYI
