Paul Merson has made a shock West Ham United prediction ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United.
West Ham are flying high in sixth spot in the Premier League table, whilst Sheffield United are toiling at the bottom, and Paul Merson has made his prediction for tomorrow’s game.
Hammers boss David Moyes has worked wonders at the London Stadium this season, having guided us up to sixth place in the Premier League table and safely through to the last 16 of the Europa League.
The football hasn’t been pretty at times but whether you’re a fan of Moyes or not, what cannot be argued against is his ability to get results this season.
Next up for us is a clash with Sheffield United tomorrow, and it will be a great chance for us to really cement our place inside the top six.
Could there be a shock on the cards though? Merson thinks so…

Paul Merson makes shock West Ham prediction
The well-renowned football pundit has made his weekly round of predictions once again for Sportskeeda.
And Merson backed the Blades to topple the Hammers:
“Sheffield United are rock bottom and have to win this to stay in with a chance of staying in the Premier League. West Ham have had a good season so far, but they are a bag of revels, aren’t they? They had a bad result in the cup and could be without Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta for this one, while Mohammed Kudus is at the AFCON with Ghana. The home side are running out of opportunities to put points on the board, so something has got to give for them. I often speak about the fact that there is a time to play certain teams and firmly believe this is the perfect time for Sheffield to come up against West Ham. If David Moyes had all his players fully fit, I’d give Sheffield no chance. But something tells me a shock result is on the cards, so I’m going for a 1-0 win to the home side.”
Sheffield United have been absolutely atrocious this season, so it would be a big shock if they beat West Ham tomorrow.
That said, the Hammers will definitely be without Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd and Michail Antonio for the Sheffield United clash.
In spite of that, Moyes should still be able to name a starting lineup strong enough to beat the beleaguered Blades.
So with that in mind, Paul Merson tipping West Ham to lose to the Premier League basement boys is a very bold shout indeed.
I think it will be a draw personally.
