Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at West Ham remains uncertain – even despite the club wanting him to stay if they are relegated from the Premier League.
While Nuno was initially expected to leave West Ham if they are relegated, fresh reports claim the club would actually like him to stay even in the Championship.
What a sorry old mess 😪 How have we let it slip AGAIN?!
Indeed, Nuno has previously taken Wolves out of the second tier and it appears that decision-makers behind the scenes would like to keep him even if they are demoted from the Premier League.
For his part, however, Nuno is yet to make his feelings clear.
West Ham want to keep Nuno but he remains focused on the short-term
According to The Daily Telegraph, West Ham bosses would like Nuno to stay to lead a potential Championship campaign.
Following a dreadful few days for the club, West Ham are now expected to get relegated from the Premier League alongside Wolves and Burnley.
How do you FEEL about West Ham wanting to keep Nuno next season? 😳
The report adds that either party can terminate Nuno’s contract, which will run for another two years at the end of this season, without compensation paid if the club are relegated.
However, West Ham’s owners are believed to rate the 52-year-old highly and currently have no appetite for him to leave.
At this stage though, Nuno is yet to confirm that he intends to continue. For now, he is focused on the final few games of the season.

Why West Ham want to keep Nuno next season
The report claims that Nuno is in line for more control in the transfer market this summer if he does stay.
West Ham have been so impressed by Nuno that they would reportedly be prepared to let him have a big say on the club’s recruitment.
There’s certainly logic in keeping him. Frankly, it’s hard to think of a better manager for a Championship campaign at this point.
Still, it seems it all depends on Nuno’s response. There is clearly no guarantee that he will stay, even if the club seemingly want him to.
One way or another, clarity will surely soon come.
