If David Moyes gets sacked as West Ham united manager, a 37-year-old Londoner could take his place at the London Stadium it seems.

Chatter has been growing recently that David Moyes could soon be sacked from his role as West Ham manager, with the club’s owners left seriously unimpressed’ following the mass walkout at the London Stadium at half-time during our defeat to Arsenal.

The likes of Graham Potter have been linked with taking over from the 60-year-old Scot, but now a new name has been added to the list of potential replacements.

According to a report from the Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is a contender to replace Moyes if and when the Scot is sacked.

The 37-year-old London-born gaffer has worked absolute wonders with the Tractor Boys this season, so it’s little wonder why he’s drawing admiring glances from East London…

If David Moyes gets sacked, 37-year-old could take over

McKenna has Ipswich Town flying high in fourth position in the Championship table, just six points adrift of second placed Leeds with two games in hand.

Ipswich have played some wonderful football this season, and McKenna has earned rave reviews for his direct, quick and scintillating attacking football.

He is well-renowned for giving his attacking players plenty of creative freedom to express themselves – the antithesis of Moyes’s management style you could say.

I feel like the majority of West Ham fans are tired of Moyes’s dour approach to games now. He has had great success since returning to the London Stadium in December 2019.

However, there is a strong argument to be made that he has now hit his ceiling in charge of the Hammers.

If David Moyes is sacked, Kieran McKenna seems like a viable option to replace him. That said, appointing him would be a big risk in my view, considering his lack of experience in managing in the Premier League.
