Michail Antonio makes very bold Golden Boot claim as he makes comments that will really excite the West Ham fans.

The 31-year-old Hammers striker has been in superb form this season.

Antonio has five goals and three assists to his name in just five Premier League games so far this term.

He has a Europa League goal to his name as well.

Micky currently tops the Premier League goalscoring charts alongside Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy.

And the Hammers star’s latest comments should really excite the London Stadium faithful.

The former Nottingham Forest man has been the most in-form player since David Moyes returned as manager of West Ham in December 2019.

Since football resumed after the first lockdown in June last year, Antonio has bagged 23 goals and nine assists in 40 Premier League games.

He seems like a completely different player now and he deserves a lot of credit for changing his approach to the way in which he lives his life off the pitch.

Antonio boldly told the Evening Standard how he has the Premier League Golden Boot in his sights:

“Six goals in six, let’s keep going and let’s keep scoring. Definitely [I like seeing my name top of the scoring charts], hopefully it can be there at the end of the season.”

Antonio is clearly not resting on his laurels. And that is great to see.

It seems as though the 31-year-old’s hamstring problems could very well be a thing of the past. He is certainly in better shape than he has ever been before.

Hopefully Antonio maintains his fitness for the entire season. If he manages to do just that, the 2021/22 campaign could be a season to remember for Micky.
