The Mail has claimed West Ham are ‘nervously waiting’ as star Lucas Paqueta is investigated by the FA over potential betting breaches.
Manchester City have been pursuing West Ham star man Lucas Paqueta over the last week.
But a potential move from West Ham to Man City suddenly hit a brick wall earlier today, as reported on Hammers News.
In the reports claiming Paqueta’s move to champions Manchester City was off – it was cited that the reasons were ‘confidential’ and being kept a secret.

Well now The Daily Mail have claimed they know the real reason behind the potential collapse of any deal between the Hammers and Man City.
The Mail claims West Ham are ‘nervously waiting’ as star Paqueta is investigated by the FA over potential betting breaches.
The report claims Manchester City have pulled the plug on the move for West Ham’s Brazil midfielder because he is facing potential charges over alleged betting breaches.
“West Ham star Lucas Paqueta is being investigated by the Football Association for potential betting breaches, Mail Sport can reveal,” the report states.

“Manchester City were interested in signing Paqueta this summer after approaching his club with a £70million offer, with the Premier League champions said to have increased their interest after the injury to Kevin De Bruyne.
“Yet it emerged on Friday morning that talks over the move had collapsed with sources citing ‘confidential’ issues.
“It can now be confirmed that the 25-year-old Brazilian is the subject of an FA investigation over allegations of gambling on football. The specifics are yet to be revealed while West Ham nervously wait to see if it will lead to Paqueta being charged by the authorities.”
Sky Sports is also reporting the news and claims to have spoken to Paqueta who told them ‘I don’t gamble’.
West Ham fans were delighted when it emerged Man City had pulled out of a move for their star man.
Some has speculated Paqueta may have had personal issues or that Man City were pulling back on their spending as a result of charges hanging over them.
But The Mail believes the real reason is the alleged investigation into Paqueta and potential football gambling breaches.
