The Lyon president says he has had a premonition that is seriously bad news for West Ham ahead of their Europa League clash.

Jean-Michel Aulas is a name some West Ham fans may remember from the club’s pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette.

He stitched West Ham by rejecting a £43m bid from the Hammers for Lacazette only to sell him to Arsenal for a similar amount a few weeks later.

Well now Aulas is stitching West Ham up in his sleep too it seems.

Because the Lyon president says he has had a premonition that is seriously bad news for West Ham ahead of their Europa League clash.

West Ham entertain Lyon for the first leg of their massive quarter-final tie at the London Stadium on Thursday.

David Moyes’s boys will then head to France for the second leg a week later.

But West Ham may as well not bother. Because according to Aulas, Lyon will be Europa League champions thanks to his premonition. And he says it’s not the first time.

Aulas has told reporters in France that he’s had “a vision” about Lyon winning the Europa League this season (RMC Sport).

“I think this year is going to be a good year,” Aulas said on RMC Sport.

The Lyon president says his optimism comes from “the arrival of (new signing) Tete and ‘creating a consensus behind the team with all of our supporters, as they showed for the Porto match’.

According to Aulas, this is not the first time he’s proven to be clairvoyant.

“I had it when we were promoted to the first division and when we won our first title of champion of France,” Aulas added on RMC Sport.

When the draw was made former Hammer Joe Cole explained why West Ham should not fear Lyon.

Heading into the game Moyes has outlined his Lyon master plan.

And across the Channel at the weekend, Lyon edged a five-goal thriller 3-2 at home against Angers which you can read all about here.

West Ham are at what would traditionally be considered as something of a disadvantage in terms of European knockout football by having the home leg first.

Although quite how true that is now UEFA have done away with the away goals rule is debatable.

Let’s hope Moyes makes West Ham dreams come true and not those of the Lyon president.
