Lucas Paqueta has absolutely raved about one of his West Ham United teammates in particular after our defeat to Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta put in a sensational display during our 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, but he still found time to praise one of his teammates rather than lap up the attention for his own performance.

The 26-year-old has been exceptional for the Hammers recently and his fine performances have been drawing attention from the likes of Manchester City.

However, Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that he is unlikely to move anywhere midway through this season. That’s a good job because he is a vital player for David Moyes.

There’s another player aside from Paqueta who we are ever so reliant on, and the Brazilian praised him to the hilt yesterday…

Lucas Paqueta absolutely raves about West Ham teammate

The South American addressed the media after yesterday’s defeat to Liverpool and spoke very highly about his Hammers teammate Jarrod Bowen.

Paqueta highlighted how he and Bowen are starting to understand each other’s games better now, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Jarrod a great player and I think we’re understanding each other more out on the pitch – we’ve been playing together for a year now. I think he realised in the moment what I like to do and I realised how he likes to make his runs. So I’m happy that’s working out for us, I’m happy for him and his goal. Now we need to rest up for the next game.”

Bowen has begun the 2023/24 season in superb form.

He has four goals and one assist to his name in just six games in all competitions for far (Transfermarkt).

The challenge for the 26-year-old will be to maintain those kind of numbers throughout the entire season, and show some real consistency.

We all know how good Jarrod Bowen can be, and Lucas Paqueta clearly does as well. If the former Hull City star can get close to 30 combined goals and assists in all competitions this season, I think there’s a good chance that we will finish inside the top seven.
