I’m not sure that too many West Ham United fans will be hanging on every word that Paul Merson says.
Paul Merson has a history of making thoroughly outlandish claims, including some of his recent takes on West Ham.
David Moyes has received huge criticism from some West Ham fans this season for the dull and negative brand of football that he has implemented.
The Scot has done a fine job on the whole at the London Stadium but I really don’t think he can take us any further. Many Hammers fans think the same, but those outside of the club all seem to think we’re crazy for having that opinion.

Merson is one of those who seem to get it wrong about us time and time again, and he’s fallen into the same trap for the umpteenth time!
Why is it that people who don’t watch us regularly think it’s ok to criticise those who aren’t happy at all with Moyes? It just baffles me.
I think the Hammers fans will be extremely interested to see the controversial football pundit’s latest take on our situation…
Paul Merson makes utterly ridiculous West Ham claim
The former Arsenal star has made a living out of his ‘edgy’ takes over the past decade or so.
The thing is, this time he wasn’t even trying to be edgy! His utter ignorance of what is really going on at West Ham shone through brightly with his latest take on the goings on at the London Stadium…
Merson told Sportskeeda:

“West Ham have lost just twice in their last nine games across all competitions, which is enough proof that they’ve turned a corner. They’ve had difficult games in recent weeks but have shown up when it mattered, making them a tough nut to crack. Fulham are so unpredictable, so I’m going for a 2-1 West Ham win. If all my predictions are right this weekend, West Ham could leapfrog Manchester United in the Premier League points table, which would be an unbelievable achievement.”
Firstly, we’ve now lost three in our last 10 games in all competitions. The big problem though is that during this run, Moyes’s men have only racked up four wins.
Secondly, I have not been convinced by the football one little bit, aside from the performance when we beat Freiburg 5-0 at the London Stadium.
It never ceases to amaze me how people can look at the Hammers from the outside and just jump to the conclusion that everything is cushty.
Paul Merson clearly fell into that trap with his take on how things are going right now at West Ham. I would suggest that as a fanbase, we just ignore what he has to say about us from here on out…
