Hammers boss David Moyes will be delighted with the way in which his new club captain has been playing, but he’s not the only one who has been in superb form for us.
Summer signing James Ward-Prowse has been absolutely exceptional for West Ham since moving to the London Stadium from Southampton for £30 million (Sky Sports).
The 28-year-old has bagged two goals and six assists in just nine games for the Hammers this season (Transfermarkt), and his leadership skills and elite mentality have made a huge difference for us.

The French defender has been speaking to the club’s official website about the Hammers’ start to the season.
And Zouma responded when asked to pinpoint a big difference between West Ham’s form this season and last:
“Last year, it was different because we had a lot of new players who came at the same time who were new to the Premier League, but this year we have players, for example James Ward-Prowse, who know the Premier League very well. He’s been an outstanding player for Southampton who knew how the game was played before he came here.”
The hard-working central midfielder has proven himself to be an unbelievable addition by David Moyes, and surely must go down as the signing of the summer in the Premier League.
Ward-Prowse’s ability from set-pieces is obviously sensational. However, labelling him as just a free-kick and corner kick merchant is a huge disservice to him.
The 28-year-old possesses incredible technique, leads by example with every single thing that he does, has a wonderful array of passing ability, offers a real threat inside the final third and provides solid defensive cover. He really is the total package.
The comments from Kurt Zouma on Ward-Prowse were the biggest compliment that the West Ham star could receive. He is an exceptional footballer and has changed us completely as a team since arriving in East London.
