West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma reckons that West Ham United are missing two specific players right now.
Kurt Zouma played for West Ham during our 3-0 defeat to Manchester United yesterday – our sixth game in a row in all competitions without a win
The Hammers were flying at the end of December, but our squad was severely depleted throughout January due to injuries, players leaving and Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd jetting off for AFCON.
David Moyes has continued the narrative that West Ham are punching above our weight, for some strange reason, and Zouma fell into the same trap by suggesting it is really hard to go to Old Trafford and get a result.
We really do have to start approaching these big games away from home with a better mindset as far as I’m concerned.
However, one caveat to our defeat was the fact that one of our best players, if not the best, was missing in the form of Lucas Paqueta. In addition to that, Michail Antonio is still out injured, so Moyes doesn’t have many options at all in attack.

Kurt Zouma admits West Ham are really missing two players
The Frenchman spoke to reporters after our 3-0 defeat to Manchester United yesterday afternoon.
And the 29-year-old highlighted the need for the Brazil and Jamaica international to return to action as soon as possible, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are two important players for the team and we need everybody, to be fair. I don’t know when, but it will be good to get them back.”
It goes without saying that we’re badly missing Paqueta and everything good that he brings to the team
However, I’m not too sure that Antonio has been missed at all over the past few months really. That said, with Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma having been sold in January, we will most definitely need the 33-year-old back and firing on all cylinders sooner rather than later.
Kurt Zouma has explained how West Ham need Paqueta and Antonio back quickly if we are to get our season back on track. Let’s hope that Moyes is able to call upon at least one of them for the Arsenal game next weekend.
