West Ham lost 2-0 to Forest in the end, and it was a really bad day for David Moyes, Kalvin Phillips, the entire squad and of course, the fans.
The 60-year-old Hammers boss is under real pressure right now, with the likes of Thomas Tuchel being linked with the London Stadium hot-seat.
The football that West Ham have been playing this season has been abysmal on the whole. Now that we’re without a win over the past seven weeks or so, Moyes is really feeling the heat, and rightly so.
A big mistake he made was failing to sign a top-class forward in the January transfer window. He did sign Kalvin Phillips, but the 28-year-old has endured an incredibly difficult start to life at the London Stadium.
We didn’t really need another defensive midfielder, so Moyes has kind of created that problem for himself. And after the Manchester City owned midfielder’s sending off yesterday, it seems like the travelling Hammers support had enough of the manager…

The Athletic journalist Elias Burke was at the game at the City Ground yesterday afternoon.
And Burke posted on X just after Phillips received his marching orders for a second bookable offence:
Unfortunately, Moyes will not be getting sacked today. Apparently, the board are not going to make any ‘panic decisions’ about the Scot’s future just yet.
The defeat to Forest was awful yesterday, as was the standard of football. The worrying thing is that this is exactly what we’ve been playing like all season, but we got away with it and earned some extremely lucky results.
The Hammers have been underperforming in almost every single metric, both defensive and offensive, this season.
What the West Ham fans sung to David Moyes yesterday was completely understandable. Unfortunately though, the majority of us won’t be getting our wish it seems, and we’ll most likely have to wait until the end of the season for that to happen.
