'John McGinn West Ham manager' Does David Moyes know? Fans find Scottish TV error hilarious

West Ham United and Aston Villa fans have taken a break from their Premier League rivalry in mutual appreciation of a hilarious Scottish TV gaffe.

West Ham and Aston Villa went from battling one another to avoid relegation to enjoying excellent seasons last term.

Driven on by England star Declan Rice and Czech heroes Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, West Ham finished sixth and qualified for the Europa League.

Villa stuttered without talisman Jack Grealish during the run-in and ended up finishing 11th, a vast improvement on the season before.

West Ham and Villa fans put Prem rivalry to one side to enjoy at good laugh at Scottish TV gaffe

The brilliant Villa playmaker admitted ahead of England’s win over the Czechs that West Ham had given him one of the biggest lessons of his career so far.

Despite the success of both sides it seems David Moyes finds himself out of a job, only to be replaced by Villa midfielder John McGinn!

That’s if STV – the free-to-air Scottish television channel – is anything to go by.

The TV channel aired an interview with Aston Villa and Scotland star McGinn this week.

Introducing West Ham’s new manager, Villa’s John McGinn

And West Ham and Villa fans spotted the hilarious title which appeared under the player while he was being interviewed.

It read: John McGinn, West Ham United manager.

West Ham and Aston Villa fans found it hilarious. And many asked whether McGinn’s fellow Scot Moyes had been told of the shock development in his job situation.

Ironically Moyes was recently linked with a move for McGinn.

But it is a touch too far for the Hammers to bring him in and make him player-manager.

All good fun of course and everyone makes mistakes from time to time.

It certainly gave supporters a good laugh judging by some of the witty responses to several posts showing a screenshot of the ITV-owned channel’s error.
