Jean-Clair Todibo says West Ham star who can ‘do everything’ is one of the ‘best players in the league’

West Ham United centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo has just waxed lyrical about one of his teammates.

Jean-Clair Todibo moved to the London Stadium on loan from Nice in the summer of 2024, but the West Ham fans are only now starting to see the best of him.

The Hammers have an obligation to buy Todibo from Nice for around £32 million at the end of the season.

West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo has already shown great leadership, with his comments after the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

He really does seem to be coming into his own now.

The only real concern is that Jean-Clair Todibo seems to be incapable of playing a full 90 minutes for West Ham.

Hopefully he manages to improve upon his fitness during the final six weeks of the season.

It would serve him well to take inspiration from one of his Hammers teammates, certainly when it comes to keeping in tip-top condition.

Jean-Clair Todibo raves about West Ham teammate Jarrod Bowen

Todibo is clearly a huge fan of club captain Jarrod Bowen.

Graham Potter recently raved about Jarrod Bowen, describing him as an ‘incredibly hard worker’.

One thing’s for sure, the 28-year-old has never been handed anything on a plate during his footballing journey.

And Todibo admitted that he’s been blown away by the West Ham skipper’s quality, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I always say Jarrod is a top-class player, and similarly he has nothing to prove. He is one of the best in the league.

“He can do everything – he can play up front or out wide, and he is an international player for England as well. When you reach that level, I don’t think there can be any doubt about a player’s quality.”

It must be nice for Jarrod to receive that kind of recognition from his teammates.

However, there is still one key area where he needs to improve.

Jarrod Bowen’s comments prove he still must improve as a leader

There have been question marks surrounding Bowen’s ability to captain the Hammers this season.

He rarely gets in the faces of referees, nor is he seen shouting at his teammates when the situation demands it.

And Jarrod Bowen’s comments after the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth – when he casually accepted a draw at home – left a lot to be desired.

The Englishman is a terrific player, but he needs to improve on his leadership qualities.

Jean-Clair Todibo has shown Jarrod Bowen how it’s done with his own remarks after the Bournemouth game.

Now it’s time for the West Ham skipper to reach a new level.
