Graham Potter told his West Ham players that he expects more of them on Friday, but that clearly doesn’t apply to all of them.
West Ham have really struggled this season, and Graham Potter obviously still has so much work to do at the London Stadium.
There are far too many players at West Ham right now who are quite simply not good enough.
There will be numerous exits at the London Stadium this summer.
However, one specific player will not be going anywhere.
Graham Potter raves about West Ham star Jarrod Bowen
Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen scored his ninth goal of the season during our 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Bowen is clearly enjoying working under Potter, and he recently shared how excited he was when the 49-year-old got the job.
The feeling is clearly very much mutual.
Potter raved about Bowen on Saturday after the Bournemouth game, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“They were both really good headers and like I said, I’m pleased for both of them in different ways because Jarrod’s been working really, really hard so he’ll be the better for a goal.“
Bowen is the best and most consistent player we have at West Ham. He is someone that has always had to work hard to reach the levels he has in the game.
And now he’s got his just rewards.
The challenge for Bowen now will be to reach an even higher level.

The Hammers captain may well be able to help Potter sign a top-class striker this summer.
Lyon ace Georges Mikautadze is apparently keen to join West Ham in order to link-up with Jarrod Bowen.
That kind of pulling power proves just how much the West Ham forward is respected amongst his peers.
The Hammers star really is a class act in every way.
And West Ham head coach Graham Potter has made it very clear that Jarrod Bowen’s quality owes a lot to his hard work and commitment.
