Jarrod Bowen has called for ’embarrassing’ West Ham to stop brushing their situation under the carpet and ‘feel the hurt’.
If one player could walk off the London Stadium pitch with their head held high after West Ham’s abysmal 5-1 defeat to Newcastle, it was Jarrod Bowen.
The attacker has been working his socks off for the team and pushing himself to the limit to try and make things happen.
Sadly not enough of his West Ham teammates are following suit.
Yet another pathetic performance resulted in a depressing defeat for the hapless Hammers – the worst home reverse in four years.
West Ham took one step forward with the win over Saints at the weekend and 10 step back against the Magpies.

Jarrod Bowen calls for ’embarrassing’ West Ham to stop brushing their situation under the carpet and ‘feel the hurt’
The Hammers have now won just 14 of their last 55 Premier League matches under David Moyes.
And West Ham fans sent a clear message to the board with what they thought of the situation in the 79th minute of the mauling.
West Ham and Moyes have been sleepwalking into this exact scenario all season long.
Now one player says it is time for everyone at the club to stop living in denial.
Jarrod Bowen has called for ’embarrassing’ West Ham to stop brushing their situation under the carpet and ‘feel the hurt’.
“It’s an embarrassing performance at the end of the day, there’s nothing positive to take out of it,” a refreshingly honest Bowen told Premier League Productions after the game.

“It was a massive game coming off Sunday, so it is disappointing. We’ve got to feel that it hurts tonight, we have another game on Saturday so we have to turn hurt into joy.
“It’s too late in season to brush things under the carpet, we are in this position and have to face it head on…
“These fans demand so much more, and we demand not giving up on the pitch. It was criminal to concede two more on top of that. It is time to be negative now as it was not a good performance, but then we look to Saturday…
“Fans were right to voice their concern. We take that on chin from the fans, we are a family at this club, we don’t want to put out results like that. On Saturday they will travel in numbers, it’s up to us to show a performance.”
Finally someone with a bit about them, now it’s time for Bowen’s West Ham teammates to start living in the real world too.
And fast.
