West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek was hugely complimentary of one of his teammates after our win over Arsenal.
Tomas Soucek scored West Ham United’s opener at the Emirates before Konstantinos Mavropanos made it two 10 minutes into the second-half.
Hammers boss David Moyes would have been delighted with the result on Thursday night, but Soucek seemingly knew it was coming after telling his teammates before the game that they could beat the Gunners.

Mavropanos played 90 minutes in the last two of those games, and the 26-year-old has really impressed of late. Soucek clearly rates him very highly indeed…
Tomas Soucek praises West Ham teammate
The Czech Republic international has been in fine form himself for the Hammers this season, with eight goals to his name already.
However, Soucek found the time to praise one of his teammates after our win over Arsenal, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“I told Dinos he should be celebrating, because it’s his first goal for West Ham, but I understand the respect he has for Arsenal. He put in a great performance. For the first couple of months, he’s had to fight and find his place here a bit, but he’s getting better and better and I’m so happy for him. This goal will help his confidence too, as well as another big performance for us in the league.”
Despite some shaky performances for West Ham so far from Dinos, including the calamitous displays away at Brentford and Liverpool and at home against Crystal Palace, there have been signs recently that he’s improving massively.
The Greece international possesses all of the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League with the Hammers.
Tomas Soucek has praised his West Ham teammate, and rightly so – Mavropanos was very good against Arsenal.
Let’s hope that he continues to improve and becomes a mainstay in David Moyes’s starting XI.
