Danny Murphy has claimed that Chelsea should go all out to sign West Ham star Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old left the Chelsea academy when he was just 14 to join West Ham, and he has since gone on to become one of the world’s best central midfielders.
Rice put in one of his best performances in a Hammers shirt against Liverpool last night.
And the powers that be at Chelsea would undoubtedly have been watching on in admiration.

Murphy believes that Chelsea should just cough up the money needed for the England international’s signature though…
Chelsea should go all out for Declan Rice
That’s according to Danny Murphy.
With N’Golo Kante out injured and set to turn 32 before the end of this season, Graham Potter will undoubtedly be identifying potential long-term replacements for the Frenchman.
And Murphy told talkSPORT why Chelsea just need to bite the bullet and sign Declan Rice:

There’s a simple solution for Chelsea moving forward, looking to the future, which is you’ve got one of the best holding players in Declan Rice. He loves Chelsea. He’s the one to take his role, he’s capable and would be there for the rest of his career. They’ll have to bite the bullet and pay whatever it is. That’s the solution to replace Kante.
Of course, Chelsea will want to sign Declan Rice. Which club wouldn’t?
Seeing move to another London club would be really painful wouldn’t it.
Hopefully David Moyes manages to keep the 23-year-old at the London Stadium. In order to do that, the board will have to match his ambition by continuing to spend in the transfer market and Moyes will have to guide his side to another finish inside the European spots.
If West Ham don’t do that though, we wouldn’t begrudge him moving on.
Losing Declan Rice to Chelsea would be a massive blow, but we have to say, Murphy is well wide of the mark when he said Rice loves Chelsea.
Sure, he was a boyhood Blues fan but they let him go when he was 14. He loves West Ham now. And the onus is on Moyes and the board to enable him to live out his dreams and ambitions at the London Stadium.
