West Ham have been heavily linked with a move to appoint Thomas Tuchel if they part company with David Moyes.
West Ham have been linked with the ambitious move to appoint Thomas Tuchel as pressure mounts on David Moyes.
The Hammers were actually linked with Tuchel when Moyes was fighting for his job last year.
Two journalists claimed Tuchel is back on West Ham’s radar to replace Moyes with the Scot’s contract up in the summer.
It was claimed technical director Tim Steidten is ‘confident’ he could lure Tuchel – a personal friend – to West Ham.
West Ham were boosted earlier when Bayern Munich officially announced they will be parting company with the alleged Hammers target at the end of the season.
But no sooner had that announcement been made than Tuchel was being linked with Barcelona.
That looked to have killed West Ham’s Tuchel pipe dream as quickly as it emerged.

Steidten, London and Premier League in West Ham’s favour
There has been real encouragement for the Hammers, though.
Because a German journalist’s big Tuchel update gives West Ham serious hope of a ‘dream’ appointment.
The Express claims Tuchel is West Ham’s dream appointment.
And while Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has admitted there is mutual admiration between Barcelona and Tuchel – a key caveat at the end of his update gives the Hammers hope.
“But he can also imagine to return to the Premier League,” Plettenberg said.
You can see the full update in the post below.
No bigger than Hammers if Tuchel returns
Given the Steidten link – and the fact Tuchel kept his house in London after being sacked by Chelsea – that should give the West Ham hierarchy genuine encouragement.
Especially considering there are highly unlikely to be any bigger clubs than the Hammers with a potential job opening in the summer.
Liverpool are highly unlikely to go in that direction given Tuchel’s shortcomings at Chelsea and Bayern.
Newcastle may be looking for a new manager by then but Eddie Howe is still a big favourite at St James’ Park.
West Ham would be the only realistic destination back in the Premier League.
So if Barca doesn’t materialise in the summer then the Tuchel links may well have legs.
That’s only if – of course – West Ham are looking for a new manager by then.
