Freiburg boss Christian Streich bizarrely warns his team about 2 West Ham players, but neither of them will start

Christian Streich has been speaking to reporters ahead of the West Ham United vs Freiburg Europa League clash tonight.

West Ham play host to Freiburg in the second-leg of the Europa League last-16, and Christian Streich is clearly wary of the threats we possess.

Hammers boss David Moyes has a huge task on his hands tonight. He’s under real pressure and has to show that he’s prepared to set up his team on the front foot.

The Scot suggested that that’s exactly what he wants to do, but actually having the courage and conviction to do it is another matter entirely of course.

Freiburg will represent a stern test, that’s for sure. However, we really should be beating them with ease as far as I’m concerned.

West Ham have the players to really hurt the Germans, but two names that Freiburg boss Streich mentioned in his pre-match press conference yesterday will surprise the Hammers fans…

Freiburg boss warns his team about 2 West Ham players

The German spoke to reporters yesterday and highlighted Danny Ings and Michail Antonio as potential threats to his team.

Streich shared how many options West Ham have, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“West Ham can always use another option. That’s what we observed in the last game against Burnley – Danny Ings scored two goals, only one of them counted. Antonio was another one.”

The irony of that is that neither of those players will start tonight, or it would be a huge shock if either of them were in Moyes’s lineup.

Of course, they may feature off the bench, but that’s far from guaranteed either.

I honestly don’t think we’ll need either of them. If Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are on song, West Ham should beat Freiburg with ease.
