Football journalist sends strange Lucas Paqueta warning to West Ham fans

West Ham United fans apparently must not expect too much too soon from new signing Lucas Paqueta.

That’s according to football journalist Paul Brown who told Give Me Sport that the Hammers fans may be disappointed, if they expect the 25-year-old to be a game-changer straight away.

West Ham boss David Moyes brought Paqueta to the London Stadium from Lyon for around £51 million in the summer transfer window (The Sun).

The Scot has already raved about there Brazilian, suggesting that he has been ‘really good’ since moving to East London from Lyon.

The Hammers fans can’t expect too much too soon from Paqueta though according to one football journalist…

West Ham fans warned about Lucas Paqueta

The 25-year-old needs to be eased into life in the Premier League.

That’s according to football journalist Paul Brown who told Give Me Sport that it will take Paqueta a while to adjust to his new surroundings at West Ham:

“I think anyone who’s expecting Paqueta to be a massive game-changer for West Ham, because of the fee they paid, might be disappointed. It’s unusual for anyone David Moyes signs to come in and have a massive impact immediately. He’s playing in a new league for a team that plays a different system. I think it’s going to take him a while to get used to things.”

We actually think this is somewhat of a strange comment from Brown.

The West Ham fans know our football and understand the intricacies of the game more than most.

We don’t need to be told how to treat a new incoming player. The West Ham fans will be right behind Lucas Paqueta all the way.

And of course we don’t need to be told to give him time to acclimatise to his new surroundings.

We understand that Paqueta wont be a game-changer consistently straight away. So why on earth Paul Brown thought it necessary to tell us how to behave regarding the Brazilian is anyone’s guess.
