‘There is even more to come’ says David Sullivan in a rare on the record West Ham statement to bring the curtain down on 2023.
West Ham majority owner David Sullivan used to be renowned for conducting many an interview.
But he made a conscious decision to withdraw from publicly discussing Hammers matters a few years ago after backlash from a large section of fans who felt it was unhelpful.
He does offer some insight from within the club from time to time, including to us here at Hammers News and other outlets.
Sullivan and former co-owner David Gold once famously pledged to take West Ham to the next level of they moved to the London Stadium.

Whether the stadium move has had a direct impact on that, there is no debating that has been achieved in recent seasons as West Ham have become European regulars.
The Hammers boast the second biggest attendances in the UK and fifth in the world. And West Ham are also among world football’s top 15 most lucrative football clubs.
That has all been reflected in the club’s latest accounts, released on Friday.
West Ham brought the curtain down on 2023 by securing their 32nd win of the calendar year at Arsenal.

That moved David Moyes’ side back into the top six going into the new year as they look to compete for more success at home and in Europe, with a last 16 tie awaiting in March.
West Ham’s recruitment has improved markedly thanks to the excellent appointment of technical director Tim Steidten. The Hammers also plan to move fringe players on to make space for new signings in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile legend Mark Noble is performing a vital role in and around all facets at the club.
And there’s ‘even more to come’ says Sullivan in a rare on the record West Ham statement.

“We have continued to make tremendous progress as a football club, both on and off the pitch,” Sullivan said on the club’s official website.
“No one will ever forget the scenes in Prague in June as we lifted a first European trophy in 58 years, nor the magnificent scenes at the parade in east London the following day. An incredible reward for our loyal, passionate supporters, who continue to back us every step of the way, both domestically and in Europe.
“Since the start of 2023, we have seen a big improvement in on-field results, with many of our new signings really beginning to settle in and play a key role in our positive upward trajectory. We remain on track for a successful Premier League season in 2023/24, as well as having the excitement of the latter stages of the UEFA Europa League to look forward to in the New Year.
“The future continues to look extremely bright for West Ham United. We have enjoyed an unprecedented level of success over the course of the past three years – but I believe there is even more to come.”
Let’s hope so because it has certainly been a year to remember.
