Emerson unwittingly lets cat out the bag on whether Jarrod Bowen will play vs Sheffield United

West Ham United face Sheffield united in the Premier League this afternoon, and the big question on everyone’s lips is; will Jarrod Bowen start the game?

Jarrod Bowen suffered an injury during our FA Cup clash with Bristol City two weeks ago, and as a result he’s a major doubt for today’s Sheffield United vs West Ham clash in the Premier League.

Hammers boss David Moyes will definitely be without Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Michail Antonio for the game today.

So having Bowen back and available for selection would be a major boost for the Scot.

Emerson Pamieri has been speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the match at Bramall Lane.

And he seemingly dropped a big hint as to whether we’ll see Bowen play against the Blades…

Emerson drops Jarrod Bowen hint ahead of Sheffield United clash

The Italian was speaking to WHUFC.com ahead of this afternoon’s important Premier League clash at Bramall Lane:

“Of course the likes of Kudus and Jarrod are important to us because of the quality they possess, and it isn’t easy without them, but at the same time we need to look at things positively. If they’re not able to play, it provides an opportunity for some of the other players. When we’ve lost players like Declan Rice before, players like James [Ward-Prowse] have come in and done well, and hopefully we can cope with players missing now in a similar way and come out with the right result.”

That reads to me like Bowen won’t feature against the Blades, or he certainly won’t start the match.

I would obviously love it if Bowen was fit enough to start the match up in Yorkshire today, but the worst thing we could do is rush him back to action too soon.

We need the 27-year-old fully fit and firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season.

And with that in mind, starting Jarrod Bowen against Sheffield United today would be a big risk from David Moyes in my opinion.
