West Ham United full-back Emerson Palmieri and Lucas Paqueta have forged an incredible relationship down our left hand flank.

Lucas Paqueta returned to action for West Ham on Monday night, and he worked brilliantly in tandem once again with Emerson Palmieri.

Hammers boss David Moyes would have been delighted with the performances of the Italy and Brazil internationals, and it was great to see Emerson back to his best after he struggled during the former Lyon man’s absence.

However, it was another West Ham player who Emerson was super grateful for during our win over Brentford on Monday night.

Jarrod Bowen scored a superb hat-trick for the Hammers against the Bees, and the ex-Chelsea man had high words of praise for the 27-year-old after the game…

Emerson Palmieri raves about West Ham star, and it’s not Lucas Paqueta

The Italian spoke to WHUFC.com after our thrilling 4-2 win over Brentford two days ago.

And Emerson took time to praise Bowen for his efforts at the London Stadium:

“I’m happy for Jarrod for getting his first hat-trick and very happy to score a goal in front of our fans. Jarrod is a top player, a special player and he deserves a lot, including this hat-trick.”

Bowen ended a barren run of five games without a goal with his hat-trick against Brentford, and he now has 17 goals and five assists to his name in 32 games for the Hammers this season (Transfermarkt).

For the majority of the season, the former Hull City ace has been deployed as a central striker, but in truth I still think he’s better and far more dangerous out wide on the right.

That said, he’s an exceptional finisher, and he undoubtedly can play through the middle, as he proved once again on Monday night.

Emerson Palmieri usually reserves his most special praise for his old chum Lucas Paqueta, but this time he shared the wealth, with Bowen rightfully getting his flowers for what was a superb performance.
