Declan Rice has shared how his comments on West Ham United’s fixture congestion were completely taken out of context by the media.
Rice has been absolutely superb for West Ham and England over the past few years.
The 23-year-old’s performance against Liverpool was an example of him doing exactly that. He was truly sensational for West Ham at Anfield.

One of the most impressive things about Declan Rice is his physical robustness. He very rarely gets injured, and considering how many games he plays, that is very impressive.
West Ham ace Declan Rice hits out at disingenuous claims
The midfielder played 68 games for the Hammers and England last season.
Rice highlighted that when speaking to reporters earlier this month.
Sky Sports and other media outlets went with the headline: Rice hits out at obscene schedule.
Dec has today addressed the way in which the media twisted his words, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

Some of the comments I made about playing lots of games were taken and switched around, when in fact I was looking for a way to play even more games last season, as I wanted to get up to 70 for West Ham and England. I said I felt tired after games, but that’s because of the intensity and, of course, you should be tired when you come off the pitch! I want to play as much as possible. I train every day and I play every game I can. I know I’m in a privileged position and I actually want to play more games, as the more appearances I can get, the better it looks for me, so I want to keep pushing. I don’t like it when there is a week in between games. I like it that we’re in Europe because it means we’re playing every three or four days, because that’s how you find your groove.
Dec is spot on here.
If you listen to his entire interview from earlier this month, he actually talks about how much he relishes playing so many games!
In all honesty, Rice doesn’t actually need to say anything. He does his talking on the pitch, and the commitment and passion that he shows talks for itself.
Declan Rice is absolutely adored by the West Ham fans, and rightly so.
It seems as though media’s attempts to stir the pot earlier this month has failed miserably.
