A reporter with close links to West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has made a claim about the future of David Moyes.
David Moyes has done a magnificent job since taking over at West Ham for the second time in December 2019.
The Hammers boss guided us to our first major trophy for 43 years last season, and has overseen our rise up to sixth place in the Premier League table this term.
In spite of the fine job that he has done at the London Stadium, many West Ham fans are still not happy with the brand of football that he deploys, and recent reports claimed that he would be gone at the end of the season.
How can you sack the man though? We are sitting inside the top six in the league and qualified for the Europa League last 16 as group winners. Surely you can’t just sack him.
Now a high level insider has given us all an update on Moyes’s current contract situation…
David Moyes future update
Sean Whetstone took to Twitter today to provide a fresh update on the Scot’s current situation at the London Stadium.
And it seems as though the 60-year-old is here to stay:
So there you have it, Moyes is here to stay, and nobody can argue with that.
I have never been Moyes’s biggest fan, but it’s impossible not to praise him for the job that he’s done. I don’t like the football that he deploys 90% of the time but so what if he gets results?
The future of David Moyes will undoubtedly be sorted out sooner rather than later. I’m sure he’ll be given a new 2.5 year deal at the very least.
There will not be one West Ham fan who will be able to begrudge him that either.
