David Sullivan confidant has claimed that a nightmare Lucas Paqueta injury scenario could be about to unfold for West Ham United.

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta hasn’t played for us since early January, after picking up a knee injury during our FA Cup clash with Bristol City.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been so heavily reliant on the Brazilian this season, so it was really bad news when a report last week claimed that he would not be fit in time for our Premier League clash with Brentford on Monday night.

West Ham have been in free fall in the Premier League, and have fallen down to ninth position, after hitting the lofty heights of sixth when the 26-year-old was playing.

If Moyes is to salvage our domestic campaign, he needs Paqueta back playing asap, and that’s why there is a big worry from the former Lyon star’s camp…

According to Claret and Hugh, sources close to Paqueta are concerned that Moyes will rush the South American star back to action for our clash with Brentford next week.

It wouldn’t be the first time Moyes has done that to be fair would it! In fact, the Scot did it last time the Brazilian got injured, having rushed him back for our clash with Bristol City after he limped off during our 2-0 win at Arsenal just 10 days previous.

If Paqueta is 50/50 to play for the Hammers against the Bees, then Moyes absolutely shouldn’t play him. We need the play-maker to be at his very best for the final 25% of the season – especially in the Europa League.

Moyes cannot afford to mess around this time, we’ve lost the Brazilian to injuries on too many occasions over the past 18 months.

Let’s hope that this time is different, and Lucas Paqueta is allowed to return from his current injury at his own pace.
