West Ham manager David Moyes has sent an exciting message to the fans ahead of our final home game of the season against Leeds today.

Leeds travel to the London Stadium today to take on West Ham in the Premier League and are in desperate need of all three points, but David Moyes thinks today could suit the home side down to the ground.

The Hammers have been awful in the Premier League so far this season, and only had our safety confirmed yesterday.

However, the boys have been superb in Europe, and we have a Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina to look forward to next month.

As a result, numerous pundits including the likes of Paul Merson have suggested that now is the ideal time for Leeds to play West Ham.

However, that might not necessarily be the case…

David Moyes makes exciting admission ahead of Leeds that’ll have West Ham fans buzzing

The Scot addressed the media during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s clash with Leeds yesterday afternoon.

And Moyes suggested that the West Ham fans will get to see an expressive, attacking and exciting performance from their team against Leeds today, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“This is a great opportunity when you have reached the final and hopefully the atmosphere inside the stadium on Sunday will give us a real chance to play without as much pressure as we have been under for a long time. And maybe give the players the opportunity to show the levels they can reach. We have not been in this position all season and let’s show supporters in the last home game of the season what we can do.”

The main gripe that many of us have had with Moyes this season is the dire style of football that he has served up, in spite of the fact that he has some supremely talented footballers at his disposal.

Counter attacking football worked for the Hammers for two seasons, but Premier League teams have clearly wised up to our playing style this term.

We’ve been hugely successful in Europe, so it’s hard to criticise Moyes too much. However, if he is to stay in charge at the London Stadium he surely must approach games more positively from the start in future.

And Moyes’s comments ahead of the West Ham vs Leeds clash today suggest that the home fans could get a glimpse of what life could be like if and when the Scot takes the handbrake off.
