David Moyes has named West Ham’s latest ill trio ahead of the Man United clash after crashing out of the Carabao Cup at Anfield.

Ahead of West Ham’s Carabao Cup quarter-final at Liverpool, Hammers News brought you word from inside the club that several players were ill.

And given the quick turnaround, it will be a big worry for West Ham’s Premier League home clash against Manchester United this weekend.

Our top source inside West Ham revealed David Moyes’ side would not be at 100% for Liverpool due to several players being taken ill and showing signs of fatigue.

It certainly showed on the pitch as the Hammers were thrashed out of sight 5-1 by a Liverpool side which has had six changes.

Moyes names West Ham’s latest ill trio ahead of Man United

Man United come to the London Stadium in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off having held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield at the weekend.

And Moyes has named West Ham’s latest ill trio ahead of Man United clash.

A sickness bug has been sweeping through the Hammers dressing room of late and shows no sign of abating as West Ham prepare to welcome Manchester United to east London.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Moyes revealed key defender Nayef Aguerd, winger Maxwel Cornet and left-back Aaron Cresswell have all been taken ill with Man United to come in 48 hours’ time.

Although he says Cresswell’s condition had improved enough to be on the bench at Anfield.

Key defender a doubt for quick turnaround

“Yea (there’s still a hangover with the illness in camp),” Moyes said.

“We’ve got Nayef Aguerd he’s ill with it and Maxi Cornet. And Aaron Cresswell was ill (but) just felt a bit better so he’s back on the bench.”

Moyes’ comments will likely anger West Ham fans, especially the 6k who travelled to Merseyside for the game a few days before Christmas knowing there were no trains home.

Because key players Kurt Zouma, Emerson, Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse were all rested for the quarter-final of a wide open Carabao Cup competition.

Neither Cornet or Cresswell get a kick under Moyes so their absence for Man United would be largely irrelevant.

But whether Aguerd will be well enough to face the Red Devils remains to be seen.
