West Ham United manager David Moyes has absolutely raved about the form of Jarrod Bowen.

David Moyes brought Jarrod Bowen to West Ham from Hull City way back in January 2020 for around £20 million (BBC).

The 26-year-old has gone on to be a superb player for the Hammers, with 45 goals and 32 assists in 165 games to his name so far. Five and one of those have come in seven games this season. (Transfermarkt).

Bowen will actually be out of contract with West Ham in the summer of 2025, but the indications are that it won’t be long before he commits to a new long-term deal.

Getting that new contract signed, sealed and delivered should be one of Moyes’s main priorities over the next few months.

The Scot clearly rates Bowen very highly indeed, and he is absolutely vital to everything good that we do as a team.

The Scot addressed the media yesterday evening after our 2-0 win over Sheffield United at the London Stadium.

And Moyes responded when asked his thoughts on Bowen’s current form for the Hammers, as quoted by the BBC:

“He’s as good as he’s ever been at the moment, he really is. He’s sharp, he’s quick, he’s a threat. It was a lovely finish today but more importantly, his all-round game has got much better.”

Bowen has clearly raised his levels since last term, and must have worked incredibly hard throughout the off-season in order to do exactly that.

To say that he’s good as he’s ever been right now is quite the claim by Moyes, but it’s true – he really is starting to look like an elite attacker.

Bowen’s strength, low centre of gravity, trickery in tight spaces, exceptional finishing ability and his hugely impressive work ethic make him an incredible all-round player.

West Ham have a real player on our hands in the form of Jarrod Bowen. He has clearly reached another level this season, and I think that he’ll continue to get better and better.

Tying him down to a new contract now will be absolutely vital for the Hammers.
