David Moyes has just told us all we need to know about his feelings on West Ham United star Maxwel Cornet with his pre-Tottenham press conference comments.

West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet has barely played this season, in fact David Moyes has given the 27-year-old just 117 minutes in all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

The Hammers winger has failed to make the impact that was expected of him at the London Stadium, and he surely knows that his time with the club is probably coming to an end.

Cornet came on against TSC Backa Topola last week, and changed the game by assisting Tomas Soucek for the winner.

However, Moyes then completely ignored him as an option from the bench during our 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at the London Stadium on Sunday – an absolutely baffling decision from the Scot.

And now Moyes has made it very clear exactly what he thinks of the Ivorian attacker…

David Moyes makes his feelings known on West Ham ace Maxwel Cornet

The Hammers face a big problem at the start of January with Cornet, Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd and Said Benrahma all set to head out to AFCON with their respective nations.

However, Moyes didn’t even mention the Ivory Coast international when reeling off the names of players who we’ll be missing in the new year, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I’ve worked with many African players during my career. I worked with Joseph Yobo and Yakubu at Everton, and many others, and I know the support of these players from Africa. The Premier League is global, as is the support for the league, and those fans are all keen for their own players to do well. We’ve got Mo Kudus, and we’ve also got Saïd Benrahma from Algeria and Nayef Aguerd from Morocco. It’s great that we’re bringing West Ham to other parts of the world and getting eyes on our Club. The disappointing bit, and the thing we’ll need to manage, is losing those players for a month during the African Cup Of Nations. But that’s part of it.”

The fact that Moyes didn’t even mention Cornet tells me that the 27-year-old isn’t even on the Scot’s radar.

I truly believe the former Burnley winger will be off in January, or next summer at the very latest – the Hammers actually tried to ship him out in the summer transfer window three months ago.

I would love to know what’s gone on behind the scenes with Maxwel Cornet at West Ham. Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy him one little bit.

And the Scot failing to even mention him today, when discussing players who are set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations, was extremely telling as far as I’m concerned.
