David Moyes has responded when asked about a potential new contract at West Ham United.
West Ham United boss David Moyes has overseen a terrible run of form at the club over the past six or seven weeks, and it has been claimed that the owners are really unhappy with recent performances.
However, it’s very clear to see that the Scot truly believes that he’s totally bulletproof in his role in charge of the Hammers.
That’s never a good situation to be in for a football club. You always want your manager and players to have the hunger needed to prove a point.
And it seems like Moyes just hasn’t got that one little bit unfortunately…

David Moyes statement on new contract
The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas was at Moyes’s press conference this afternoon, and shared what the Scot said in response to questions about whether he’ll be handed a new deal by the Hammers owners:
“I’ve had really good conversations with the owners, with David Sullivan and Karren Brady. There’s a contract there for me and I’m the one deciding I want to wait until the end of the season.”
The only shining light I can see from those comments is that Moyes may well walk away from the club at the end of the season.
He surely has to do the right thing. The 60-year-old has taken us as far as he can, and it’s time for him to leave the London Stadium with his dignity in tact.
Why on earth would you want to stay in a place of employment where so many people don’t want you there anyway?
It’s very much a case of thanks for the memories Dave but it’s time to go. The West Ham owners really shouldn’t even be giving David Moyes the chance to stay by offering him a new contract.
Unfortunately for us though, it seems like a new deal is sitting on the table just waiting to be signed, if that’s what the former Everton and Manchester United boss wants to do.
