David Moyes has just completely contradicted himself with a grim West Ham United injury update ahead of the Chelsea game tomorrow.

David Moyes contradicts himself with West Ham injury update

The Scot addressed the media during his pre-match press conference this afternoon.

Moyes responded when asked whether West Ham have been unlucky with injuries this season, as quoted by Football.London:

“We’ve [been] a bit unfortunate with injuries this year, the last couple of years, we’ve had a brilliant record. The medical team have done a great job, very few injuries over the last couple of years but maybe just because of playing 60 games in the last two seasons might have just taken a wee bit of a toll in some places. Mostly, I think it’s probably the new boys who have had injuries. Hopefully they are on the way back, all of them, and we will get them back for the second half of the season.”

Wow that really is a major contradiction right there isn’t it!

Out of the five players currently injured, three of them are new signings – Cornet, Scamacca and Kehrer. Meanwhile, another one of our summer signings Nayef Aguerd only recently returned to action.

Another summer signing Lucas Paqueta experienced injury problems earlier this season as well.

Moyes really has come out with some baffling things this season, but those comments when giving a West Ham injury update today take the biscuit.
