David Moyes has once again mooted a potential position switch for one of West Ham United’s key players.

However, there is one particular area where the Hammers chief is very short on options – the centre-forward department.
Michail Antonio and Danny Ings have both been in dreadful form for West Ham this season, and Moyes will surely be targeting the addition of a top-class centre-forward in the January transfer window.
Or will he? Maybe, just maybe, the Scot already has the solution to his problem right under his nose.
Jarrod Bowen has been a hugely important player for the Hammers this term, with eight goals and three three assists in 14 games to his name so far (Transfermarkt).
And a new role could be lying in wait for the 26-year-old star…
David Moyes sees change coming for West Ham star
The Scot addressed the media yesterday during his pre-match press conference ahead of our Europa League clash with Olympiacos tonight.
And Moyes responded when asked his thoughts about Bowen’s form this season, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Jarrod Bowen is happy to play in any position we put him in. We’ve moved players around before, like Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautović, and it’s always in my mind that Jarrod can play there. In his early days, he had played some games for Hull City as a centre-forward too. He’s done really well whatever role he has played for us, and he got another goal at the weekend. He’s kept his goals ticking along and we’ve needed that.”
I think that Bowen possesses all of the skills needed to play as a centre-forward for West Ham.
He is highly energetic, possesses real pace and strength and presses aggressively from the front – something that we definitely don’t have when Michail Antonio plays.
The evidence was there for everyone to see during our 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Arsenal last week when Moyes started with a front four of Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and Said Benrahma.
We had energy, pace and skill, and the Gunners really couldn’t cope with us. Moyes then reverted to type on Saturday though, by playing Michail Antonio through the middle. I would be shocked if the Scot makes the same mistake again.
Jarrod Bowen’s future is undoubtedly as a centre-forward in my opinion. And David Moyes’s latest comments on the West Ham forward seem to support that theory.
