David Moyes admitted that one West Ham United player drives him crazy, after our 3-0 win over Wolves yesterday.
West Ham put Wolves to the sword at the London Stadium yesterday, running out as comfortable 3-0 winners in the end, and David Moyes would have been absolutely delighted with the result and performance.
The Hammers were totally dominant yesterday and it was a game that was dominated by three of our players – Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
The Brazilian, the Englishman and the Ghanaian have forged an incredible understanding with each other, and they were all sensational yesterday afternoon.
Paqueta racked up a trio of assists against Wolves, and he put in arguably his best performance yet in a West Ham shirt.
Moyes even admitted before the match that he has been playing the Brazilian out of position on the left wing this season, but that didn’t affect him one little bit yesterday.
The Scot spoke to reporters after the game and made a frank admission about the former Lyon star…
Moyes makes Paqueta admission after West Ham beat Wolves
The Scot raved about the 26-year-old when speaking to reporters yesterday afternoon.
And Moyes responded when asked by Sky Sports to share his feelings on Paqueta:
“I’m pulling my hair out one minute and the next minute I’m waving my arms in the air at how well he does. Some of his passes are terrific, he’s got it in the locker. He’s a really talented footballer. But as a manager there are bits that drive you mad. You have to find a way of living with it.”
The Brazilian really is a magical player but Moyes is right, he does drive you mad at times.
Lucas Paqueta does things with the ball that other players can only dream of, but then sometimes he will lose it in a dangerous area and put us immediately on the back foot.
I guess the bottom line is this – Does Paqueta’s contribution inside the final third far outweigh the mistakes he makes in his own half? I would say yes, and it’s not even a difficult question.
Moyes was quite clearly delighted with Paqueta’s display for West Ham against Wolves yesterday. The challenge for the Brazilian now will be to maintain that level between now and the end of the season.
