David Moyes has admitted his single biggest concern about the situation at West Ham right now but he must shoulder much of the blame.
It feels like only West Ham could spoil a superb start to a season in just seven days with three poor defeats on the bounce.
The Hammers lost to Everton at home on Sunday to compound a miserable week which also brought defeats at Olympiacos and Aston Villa.
In isolation none of those results would ordinarily spark particular concern. Aston Villa are on fire and away from home it was always going to be tough for West Ham.
Olympiacos are no world beaters, but away from home in a cauldron of an atmosphere, that too isn’t easy.
Everton at home is a game West Ham should be winning of course. But they have proved more difficult to beat this season.

The big worry has been the actual performance levels of this West Ham team, though. With the players at his disposal, David Moyes should be getting more of a rhythmic tune out of the team. Instead it’s all a bit dull at times.
The Scot has been playing down any issues of over the last week insisting the team spirit is good and that he knows best when it comes to the changes he makes and teams he selects.
Now he has conceded there is some cause for concern, though.
Moyes has admitted his single biggest concern about the situation at West Ham right now but he must shoulder much of the blame.
The Hammers boss says he is worried about how toothless and profligate West Ham look.

Moyes bemoans profligacy but it was the same last season BEFORE selling Scamacca so why didn’t he do something about it?
That’s despite insisting during the summer that West Ham did not need to sign another striker ‘because they have Jarrod Bowen who can play there’.
And despite West Ham struggling for goals for much of last season BEFORE selling striker Gianluca Scamacca and opting not to replace him.
“That would be a problem for us,” Moyes said about his side’s lack of creativity and profligacy.
“Let’s be fair that’s the first game we’ve not scored a goal in this season. But I agree, I thought we missed chances today, missed two or three opportunities to score…
“We’ve not made as many chances as we should have done. I didn’t like that at Aston Villa, didn’t think we made enough, didn’t do it at Olympiacos and today we didn’t.
“We attempted to but we just couldn’t really get through. We kept at it, probably got stronger in the last 15 minutes of the game. We came close once or twice, the ball never broke for us once or twice.”

West Ham fans left saying ‘we told you so’
West Ham were one of the Premier League’s lowest scorers for the majority of last season until their form picked up at the tail end of the campaign.
And we know where that got us. The fact West Ham continue to rely on the ageing Michail Antonio – who turns 34 in a few months – is unacceptable for a club the size of the Hammers.
But while the absence of a bona fide top level striker will not see West Ham involved in any sort of relegation battle this season, it already looks like it will cost them dear in their hopes of challenging for the European spots.
It’s frustrating to hear Moyes bemoan how toothless his side has looked. And it will be met with the same four words from any West Ham fan – ‘We told you so’.
