The dreary weather was matched by the football on show from West Ham and Everton as the first half ended in stalemate.
The clocks went back overnight and it seemed as though the West Ham and Everton players were still in bed.

The drab affair was reflected by the atmosphere in the stands at the London Stadium.
That prompted Lucas Paqueta and Sky Sports commentators to make their feelings clear about the West Ham atmosphere against Everton.
After helping create what ended up being West Ham’s best chance to get a goal in the first half, Paqueta turned to the crowd and threw his hands up several times in a clear message for Hammers fans to raise the volume.
Sky Sports’ commentators noted the gesture with Alan Smith saying: “Paqueta is trying to whip up the fans.”
‘They’re waiting for something to react to!’
But the chief commentator defended West Ham fans in light of Paqueta cajoling the crowd to improve the atmosphere.
“That’s down to what the players themselves do,” he said.
“It has been quiet in this opening quarter of the match (in the stands), but they haven’t seen Jordan Pickford overly worked so far.
“They’re waiting for something to react to!”
There was little chance of that, though. Things got worse for West Ham in the second half as Everton took the lead and the Hammers looked like a side who could play for a month without scoring.
Much has been made of the atmosphere at the London Stadium since West Ham’s move there.
It can and has produced some memorable atmospheres. But the weather, a Sunday lunchtime kick off and the football on display did not help matters.
