Petulant Lucas Paqueta has had a ban confirmed after pointless protests as West Ham pay a heavy double price for defeat to Everton.

West Ham lost a dreary game 1-0 to Everton at the London Stadium on Sunday.

A dismal third defeat in as many games this week has seen West Ham’s fine start to the season spoiled.

After starting well, West Ham fell into Everton’s trap of making it a scrap they were never going to win against Sean Dyche’s dogs of war.

Talisman Lucas Paqueta struggled to make an impact as he was shifted into three different positions durng the game.

The Brazilian has probably been West Ham’s best player this season. That’s despite having the FIFA and FA investigation hanging over him.

West Ham and Paqueta are still waiting on the outcome of that and it promises to be a lengthy process.

Worse still West Ham will also be missing Edson Alvarez for the Brentford game after he too was booked late on.
