Lens boss Will Still has repeatedly said it is his ultimate dream to manage boyhood club West Ham United one day.

When West Ham were searching for a replacement for David Moyes, one name was consistently linked.

Many West Ham fans wanted a young, innovative manager with an attacking philosophy to replace Moyes.

West Ham’s talks with Ruben Amorim captured the imagination but it was not to be.

Julen Lopetegui was the man David Sullivan and co settled on after he impressed when interviewed.

But before the Spaniard’s appointment, the sudden availability of Will Still raised eyebrows over the summer.

The unlicensed young English coach has been persistently linked with his boyhood club West Ham.

Still was being linked with West Ham again over the summer and became a free agent after having his contract terminated at Reims.

Multi-lingual Still stated he dreams of managing his beloved Hammers.

The 31-year-old was linked as a potential replacement for Moyes the season before last too.

Indeed it was even claimed Still was on a six-man shortlist compiled by the Hammers board when they were considering parting ways with Moyes previously.

Still was spotted at the London Stadium for West Ham’s win over Nottingham Forest last November.

That sparked rumours online that he met with West Ham’s majority owner Sullivan.

Sullivan spoke on the record to Claret and Hugh at the time about the rumours he met with Still as a potential candidate to succeed Moyes.

The billionaire admitted he admired Still but insisted it would be ‘too big a risk’. Although he did add the caveat: ‘never say never’.

Sullivan stated ‘never say never’ on Still as future Hammers boss

“No I didn’t speak with him,” Sullivan said.

“I admire what he’s done, but too much of a gamble.

“In a few years never say never. I think he came as he’s a genuine supporter.”

West Ham’s owners, fans and Lopetegui himself will be hoping this is the start of a long and successful tenure in east London.

Lens have started Still’s tenure playing wonderful football and with two wins and a draw from the opening three games.

If the Hammers fanatic continues his upward trajectory in the game then links with West Ham will undoubtedly persist anytime the job becomes available.

Now a brilliant video has emerged from a match showing what Still would bring to West Ham as a future manager.

And one thing is for certain, there would be no lack of passion.

‘Don’t talk to our players’ Still rages

Still had a fiery confrontation with Monaco boss Adi Hutter during Lens’ 1-1 draw with Monaco at the weekend.

And the cameras and microphones captured brilliant and rare footage of the exchange.

Still is angered by Hutter making remarks to Lens players and tells him in no uncertain terms: “Oi, shutup, sit down. Don’t talk to our players, don’t talk to our players.

“You focus on your players, you talk to your players, don’t talk to mine!”

Hutter gestures towards Still by making a talking mouth action with his hand to which the West Ham fan responds: “Yea, exactly.”

You can check out the footage in the post below.

Clearly Lopetegui is vastly more experienced than Still.

And although Brighton look like they’ve done it again with a brave move to appoint a 31-year-old manager, perhaps Sullivan is right about the risk factor for a club the size of West Ham.

Lopetegui has a two-year deal at the London Stadium. But a third year will be automatically triggered if the Hammers qualify for Europe.

There’s no reason Still cannot be in the mix as a future managerial candidate for West Ham in years to come if he continues to shine.

And West Ham fans will love the passion he showed standing up for his players.
