West Ham United could be dealt a real hammer blow by Arsenal in the summer transfer window it seems.

The summer transfer window will be crucial for West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui, and the same can be said for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Lopetegui has made three good signings already this summer, but many more are needed if we are to challenge on all fronts this season.

Arsenal have already dealt the Hammers a blow by moving into position to sign Lopetegui target Johan Bakayoko.

And now the north London outfit could be set to deal yet another problem to the East London club.

That’s because Arteta reportedly has his eyes on a truly incredible attacker…

West Ham face problem as Arsenal make summer transfer window move

So the Gunners could be set to deal us a real blow this summer.

Mikel Arteta is apparently lining up a move to sign someone who really shone out in Germany at the Euros, and caught the eyes of numerous different club coaches.

According to a report from Sabah, the agent of Baris Alper Yilmaz is set to travel to London to meet Arsenal about a potential £25 million move to the Emirates this summer.

West Ham have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old winger, and it’s been claimed that we are set to make a bid for him imminently.

We may well have no chance of signing the Turkey international now though, with Arsenal having thrown their hat into the ring in the race for his signature.

He bagged seven goals and 12 assists in 55 games for Galatasaray last season, and really impressed for Turkey out in Germany at Euro 2024.

Yilmaz is a right-footed right winger – a rare commodity in this day and age. However, he can play out wide on the left as well, and through the middle as a striker if need be.

If the Hammers did sign the Galatasaray star, he would invariably play out wide on the left – we have more than enough competition for places in the right wing department after all.

He possesses pace in abundance, is incredibly tenacious, has fantastic dribbling ability and has real end product inside the final third.

Unfortunately for West Ham, Arsenal are seemingly far better positioned to sign Baris Alper Yilmaz in the summer transfer window than we are.
