West Ham United apparently could be dealt a major blow by Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Both West Ham and Arsenal are expected to be extremely active before the summer transfer window slams shut next month.
Julen Lopetegui is said to be lining up six summer signings, which means he’ll be looking to add a bare minimum of another three players.
The Spaniard is well known to be on the hunt for more attacking reinforcements before the end of next month.
Numerous exciting names have been linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer, but now we face a big problem regarding a move for one of the attackers Lopetegui has his eye on.
That’s because the door seems to have been left wide open for Arsenal to move in and sign one of Lopetegui’s reported targets.
Johan Bakayoko has good and bad news for West Ham and Arsenal
The PSV Eindhoven attacker is a transfer target for both the Hammers and the Gunners this summer.
However, it seems like it’s advantage to the north Londoners.

Bakayoko spoke to Voetbal International about his future today, and dropped a huge hint.
The Belgian superstar in the making said, “I want to go to a club that can go as far as possible in the Champions League. A club that plays for the title every season and where I can improve every year,” he said.
“I exclude a lot of clubs. My ambitions are high and not with the clubs in the middle bracket. I am doing well here, so I will only exchange PSV for a club that plays for prizes”, Bakayoko continued.
“It could be a good moment to make a transfer now, but that could also be the case next year. For example, if we have become champions again or have gone far in the Champions League.”
There you have it then, that rules the Hammers out of the race for his signature, as we clearly won’t be challenging for the very biggest trophies any time soon.
The 21-year-old PSV Eindhoven star is a sensational young talent, and he has all the makings of someone who’ll be one of the world’s best in the not too distant future.
Arsenal winning the race to sign Johan Bakayoko this summer would be a big blow for West Ham.
It’s just a real shame that we didn’t make a move to sign him sooner.
