What a player West Ham United have on their hands in the form of Ollie Scarles.

Ollie Scarles has always been earmarked for greatness at West Ham, and now the talented teenager seems ready to jump up to another level.

Hammers boss Graham Potter is a huge fan of the youngster, and raved about his talent and application earlier this week.

West Ham have some fabulous young talents coming through at the London Stadium right now, and Scarles is undoubtedly the cream of the crop.

The 19-year-old possesses absolutely everything needed to make it at the very highest level.

And crucially, he seems to have a very wise old head on his shoulders as well.

The toughest task West Ham will have is keeping Scarles at the club.

Ollie Scarles twist answers questions about West Ham future

It’s no surprise that a young player with Scarles’ talent might be attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

The Hammers have lost our best academy graduates time and time again in the past, including the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and more recently Declan Rice.

However, I don’t think the same thing will be happening with Scarles.

According to The Daily Mail, scouts from the England Football Association have been keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old since he burst onto the scene with the West Ham first-team.

The fact that Thomas Tuchel has his scouts running their eyes over Scarles means one very important thing for West Ham.

And that is that the teenager will now be safe in the knowledge that he doesn’t need to move to a so-called bigger club in order to get recognition at national level.

He will know that if he keeps performing for the Hammers, and continues to let his football do the talking, a call-up to the England squad will come.

Scarles is currently under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2028, and the Hammers hold an option to extend that deal by another 12 months (The Athletic).

Hopefully we tie the 19-year-old down to an even longer term new deal soon because he is clearly the real deal.

What David Moyes told West Ham owners about Ollie Scarles

David Moyes was the man who gave Scarles his debut for the Hammers, when the left-back was just 16.

And it recently came to light what the Scot told the West Ham owners about the teenager just under two years ago.

Moyes apparently told the Hammers board that Scarles will definitely make it as a top level Premier League player, when they asked him what he really thought about the youngster.

I think Moyes is bang on the money.

Ollie Scarles will save West Ham tens of millions in the transfer market if he continues on his current trajectory.

And if he does get a call-up for England soon, he will become an even more valuable commodity for the Hammers.
