The camp at West Ham United is clearly not a happy one right now.

West Ham have a lot of problems due to poor squad building over the past few years.

Graham Potter faces a huge squad rebuild at the London Stadium this summer, with numerous new signings required.

And the West Ham boss is said to be keen to add more youth and dynamism to his ranks.

However, one of his most important jobs will be to raise some cash, with funds believed to be tight at West Ham.

One player in particular may be able to fetch a decent fee for the Hammers, but a lot needs to go our way in order for that to happen.

Lucas Paqueta leaving West Ham to rejoin former club a possibility

West Ham signed Lucas Paqueta from Lyon back in the summer of 2022 for around £51 million (The Times).

However, aside from this through-ball to Jarrod Bowen in the Conference League final in 2023, he hasn’t really lived up to the hype.

And now, it has been claimed that Lucas Paqueta faces a lifetime ban, if he’s found guilty of the spot-fixing charges levelled against him.

If the Brazilian is found not-guilty, he could still leave the Hammers.

It has been suggested that Paqueta is willing to take a big pay-cut in order to push through a move to Flamengo.

Perhaps it’s home comforts that the former Lyon man is chasing.

Lucas Paqueta is incredibly unhappy at West Ham right now

Rafael Reis wrote an update on Paqueta for UOL, and highlighted just how unhappy the 27-year-old is right now.

He suggested that Paqueta is in a ‘living hell’ at the London Stadium, with his form having fallen off a cliff.

Reis also points out that West Ham’s form has suffered because of the Brazilian midfielder’s poor performances.

It’s little wonder why Lucas Paqueta has been off the boil for West Ham this season. The betting breach trial rumbling on in the background must be causing him tremendous anxiety.

I just hope that there’s a happy ending for him, and the Hammers are able to then move him on for a decent fee this summer.
