Emerson Palmieri will have a huge role to play for West Ham United this season and beyond.

West Ham signed Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea last summer for around £13 million (Dharmesh Sheth).

The 28-year-old left-back made a very shaky start indeed to life at the London Stadium, but turned things around towards the end of last season.

After the U-turn performed by the Italy international, I fully expect him to play a key role for us during the upcoming campaign.

Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel described the 28-year-old as an ‘unbelievable’ player (Independent).

Emerson has a real turn of pace – something that we just don’t have down the left hand side when Aaron Cresswell plays.

The Italian is also incredibly gifted from a technical perspective and plays with a real kind of flair that seems to change the dynamic of how we play as a team.

The 28-year-old is now entering the prime years of his career, and I reckon he’s nailed down the left wing-back spot at the London Stadium.

Now it’s up to Emerson Palmieri to prove his real quality to the West Ham fans over the course of an entire Premier League campaign.
