John McGinn has credited West Ham United for Aston Villa’s 6-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Aston Villa were in stunning form during their convincing victory over Brighton, and John McGinn highlighted how West Ham played a key role in their success.
The Hammers have been in good form ourselves this season, and our 3-1 win away at Brighton in August formed the cornerstone of our impressive start to the 2023/24 campaign.

The Seagulls were heavy favourites that day but David Moyes implemented a brilliant game-plan that completely blunted the south coast outfit.
And it seems as though the way we played at the American Express Stadium is now being used by other teams as the blueprint for success when they come up against Brighton…
Aston Villa star credits West Ham for thumping 6-1 win over Brighton
John McGinn spoke to reporters after the match and explained what prompted Villa to set up in the way they did on Saturday against the Saeagulls.
The Villa ace told TNT Sports, quoted via official Premier League website:

“We watched West Ham do it.”
Brighton had 62% possession against Aston Villa but were convincingly beaten by five clear goals on the day.
Against us, they had an incredible 78% possession, but were soundly beaten 3-1.
Villa are now the Premier League’s most in-form team with three consecutive victories.
And on the other hand it seems like Brighton have been found out. How ironic is it that the Hammers could end up being the architects of their potential demise, given our long-standing struggles against them.
