Arthur Masuaku U-turn as report makes big West Ham claim

Arthur Masuaku could be set for an early return to West Ham United from his loan spell with Turkish club Besiktas.

That’s according to a report from Fotomac who claim that Besiktas could renege on Masuaku’s loan deal and send him back to West Ham before the end of the season.

That news is in stark contrast to reports that emerged from Turkey last week claiming that the 29-year-old will almost certainly join Besiktas from the Hammers on a £2 million permanent deal in the summer transfer window.

Masuaku joined the Hammers from Olympiacos in the summer of 2016 for around £6 million (Sky Sports).

He endured a really tough six years at the London Stadium though, before leaving to join Besiktas on a season-long loan in the summer of 2022. It seems as though the Democratic Republic of Congo international could be set for a premature return to the London Stadium though…

Arthur Masuaku could head back to West Ham

Fotomac claim that Besiktas could send the 29-year-old back to the Hammers, because they want to replace him with Amadou Dante of Sturm Graz.

Besiktas are believed to have an option to buy Masuaku for around £2 million (FotoMac).

However, it seems as though they’ve decided against that.

Even if Arthur Masuaku does return to West Ham, I can’t see any kind of future for him at the London Stadium whatsoever.

The left-back’s poor concentration levels and shocking positional awareness have cost the Hammers on numerous occasions over the years.

The sooner we get rid of him the better in my opinion.

So it might just be a case of taking him back before selling him to another club in the summer transfer window.

However, whether the Hammers can convince any club in world football to buy Masuaku is another matter entirely!
