Arsenal’s Declan Rice has sent a heartfelt post about West Ham star Jarrod Bowen on social media as the duo are reunited on England duty.

Before this summer there was never any great rivalry between West Ham and Arsenal but one has been cooking since Declan Rice’s move to the Emirates in the summer.

The midfielder lost the respect of some West Ham fans for refusing to sign a new contract and pushing for a move to London rivals Arsenal.

Prague hero Jarrod Bowen has really stepped up as a talisman and leader for West Ham since Rice left for the Gunners.

And at the weekend he did what Arsenal’s new favourite Rice wouldn’t – committed his future to West Ham by signing a seven-year deal.

Club rivalries are left at the door when England get together nowadays.

Bowen has deservedly earned a recall to the Three Lions setup where he has been reunited with his former West Ham captain.

‘Back with the boy’

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Rice posted a picture of him and Bowen taking a walk together over a coffee, tagging West Ham’s top goalscorer in and saying: “Back with the boy” alongside a heart.

They may be at different clubs now but Bowen and Rice could be reunited on the pitch at Wembley this Friday.

Because Gareth Southgate has strongly hinted that the Hammers star will start in the friendly against Australia.

Rice was recently criticised by West Ham youth coach Carlton Cole for comments he has made since joining Arsenal.

Cole also insisted Rice cannot be seen as a West Ham legend but rather a ‘cult hero’.
